Good Things Come to Those Who Take

On Elon Musk, Adrian Dittmann, and The Future Present

1/6/2025

I, like many people online, was sure that Adrian Dittmann was Elon Musk on an alt the first time I heard him. Elon has previously admitted to using alt accounts under threat of law, and is generally a sad enough little man that it didn't seem out of character for him, to be defending himself on an alt. Reality is not as fun as we hope though, and Adrian Dittmann is what he's claimed to be: just a man.

He, at his core, is many things: a serial businessman, a tech bro, an Elon dick-rider. We know little about him overall, other than he is not opposed to Elon and his antics, is an accelerationist, and loves tech. At the end of the day, who he is is of little importance to the larger story. What's more important is that he is, in fact, Not-Elon.

As Not-Elon, he brings forward a larger message. We, as a collective, as a community, as a populus, are stupid. That the left is just as prone to confirmation bias and wish-fulfillment as anyone else is. We like to act smart, that we know what's best, but we fall for the same old shit anyone else does.

Where does that leave us? The same place that it always did. Elon being or not being Adrian never really changed anything, it was just another chance to laugh at the richest man-child in history. Elon is still the miserable maggot he has always been; he is still the man just bursting with divorced dad energy we know him to be. Playing an embarassing number of hours of games while claiming to be involved in and/or run 8+ companies, on top of his tumultuous affair with Trump and the MAGA crowd. Running an electric car company that was largely boosted by American legislative efforts, now very openly trying to pull the ladder back up after him. A man so insecure about his involvement in things that after buying his way in, he wipes all history of those before him through whatever means available.

So now we have Elon and Not-Elon. Not-Elon has enjoyed all the attention and harassment that people thinking you're Elon Musk provides him. He's gone from ~30K followers on Twitter this time last year, to over 200K now. He has an indeterminate amount of Twitter paid Subscribers. He has a 13K+ member Twitter community called x/acc = 𝕏 Accelerated, which all jerk each other off and talk about how much more intelligent they are than any of those soy enjoying liberals. I'm sure other benefits have befallen him, as people love to throw things at people they think are famous, or think will be famous.

Elon, on the other hand, has more tangible power than ever. He will most likely be a part of some monumental changes for the country, purely because of his "smart guy" facade. There is a chance his relationship with Trump flames out due to his grating behavior and constant demands, but that won't happen too soon.

I think, deep down, we just want him to be some shitty little 4Channer. We want him to be some idiot with a VPN and too much time. That way he can be minimized, ignored, or have his tune changed by contacting his mom. Instead, we have to deal with this very real, very online, very powerful moron. Sitting hand in hand with the other morons and King Moron. A man who, given the opportunity, will absolutely fuck over people that have wronged him, and will lick any loafers he needs to do so. He is a prime example of a trend: our ruling class is just getting more online, and that scares me more than anything. There's little left to do but what we can. So we'll do it. We'll just need to keep an eye on the Poster-Kings as well. Sic semper tyrannis.
