Good Things Come to Those Who Take

On Shooting The C-Suite & Other High Crimes

12/5/2024

I'm shocked it took this long for something of this nature to happen. The C-Suite bleeds like the rest of us; this we must acknowledge. Protect capital over people and you get what you deserve.

I have worked in healthcare for several years now. Never as the people saving the lives, but usually as the one checking them in, fixing their charts, etc. Seeing the story, maybe touching it, but not the fix.

There's little that's radicalized me as much as seeing the lengths those disadvantaged in life have to go through to get something as simple as doctor's visit. Sometimes, because of the conditions they are required to live in or with, they need more medical attention than most, and that's just the way things go. Why must we make it so hard for them, on top of struggling with their health?

Every dollar that lined that dead man's pocket, every aged timber slab lining his walls, every exotic vacation was paid for by the suffering and death of regular people. I do not give a fuck how generous his grieving widow says he was. He was a monster.

We can talk about denial rates, the cost cutting, etc. But at the end of the day, the suffering is the point. Every dollar he paid out for care is a dollar not in the bags of stock holders. He was not in the health care industry, his business was making it as miserable and expensive as possible to do so; a leech by another name.

It won't change much, but maybe this is the beginning of a landslide. A pebble shifts just the wrong way, shifting another, moving a rock, and so on. It's clear it's caught the attention of the media class. After all, it's news when a rich man dies, a tragedy.

Let us come together. Deny them peace. Defend your neighbor, your friend. Depose those unwilling to change. May we find ourselves in a better tomorrow.
